22 Birthday

爌窯 clod kiln BBQ party
not so sure how to call it in English…Please correct me if I am wrong
So the first thing we do is get a bunch of wet clod then pile them up just like an mini igloo. After that, we burn a lot of wood in it to heat up the kiln. While we are waiting, it is the time to prepare the food. Usually we cook things such as chicken, sweet potato, corn, and eggs. We wrap the food with tinfoil, then apply few layers of wet newspaper and finally cover with mud. When the clod turn into red like bricks, it is about the time to put our food in. We open the top of kiln to put the food in the ash then we smash the kiln and cover it with soil to keep the innor tempture. Wait for about two hours, the food will be coooked and ready to eat.
this is a very popular out door activity in Taiwan, especially in contury side.
